Excessive Yawning And The Panic Attack Cycle

Have you ever felt like you were excessively yawning and just could not get enough air into your lungs? This is incredibly common with people I work with for panic and anxiety, but it's also a very annoying habit. A habit that begins simply because of hyperventilation and having the feeling that we just can not take in enough air no matter how hard we try.

Excessive yawning is actually a very common symptom of anxiety and can be present even when you think you are breathing normally. In my 6-year struggle with panic disorder and the constant panic cycle I was in, I would always be told to keep up my daily exercise routine. Which was great, but funny enough my excess yawning would always get worse when I exercised. This worried symptom of anxiety that caused me more dizziness and frustration as time went on, led me to fear exercising and there was a time I stayed away from it completely.

The link I made up in my mind that exercise heightens the symptoms of anxiety that was yawning and dizziness, was just one more mountain I had to climb in the never-ending symptoms of anxiety I was experiencing. But the main question is, how was I able to stop the excessive yawning during the day, and especially during the time I was exercising? Simple realization that's how. During the symptom of anxiety that is yawning, your body is telling you to basically slow down your breathing; the quick shallow breaths that you are taking in are basically causing the blood in your system to become more acidic. Belly breathing is crucial to stopping this symptom of anxiety, and can be done either lying down or standing standing up. Take 20 minutes spread out throughout the day, only to focus on your slow belly breathing. Placing one hand on your tummy as you breath will tell you if you're doing it correctly, or not.

The second and most important thing you must do if you experience symptoms of anxiety such as excessive yawning and hyperventilation is to re-educate your subconscious mind on the truth of what the panic cycle is. Knowledge is crucial, and once you are convinced that these symptoms of anxiety are nothing dangerous attached to them, you begin ending the constant cycle of panic naturally. This is the key to freedom from external things that you think will cure your anxiety.

Raising Emotionally Healthy Children

From the moment our children are born, as parents we are attuned to their every need, cry, sneeze, sniffle, and sleep disorder. We are very cautious and never fail to check-up on their physical health systematically. Yet, how often do we take the time to understand and evaluate how emotionally healthy our children are?

For every vulnerable baby born into this world, family has the greatest influence over how happy and emotionally healthy they are. It is often moms and dads and siblings who give kids a sense of belonging and help them create their own unique identity in this world. “The family is substantially important to the developmental, emotional and cognitive growth of a child,” says Tamara Gold, a New York parenting coach. “A child will learn about relationships, manners, self-esteem, worth and loyalty, all by watching and participating in family”.

Families help shape a child's personal values and social behaviors and play an integral role in how a child flourishes in every aspect of his or her lives. Families are also a source of emotional support and comfort, warmth and nurturing, protection and security. The Good Childhood Report (2012) found that families had the biggest impact on children's happiness and well-being.

Children who have happy and secure home lives are more likely to be confident, sociable and positive in their outlook. In addition to ensuring your child is happy and secure, it is important to ask him or her how she is feeling and encouraging them to open up about their thoughts, feelings, impressions, and fears. Even young children have insecurities and fears that as a parent you need to be attuned to.

As a parent, you know your child the best and instinctively understand their needs and desires. Just by paying more attention to how they 'feel', and not just what they 'need', we can learn ways to raise emotionally healthy children. Here are a few quick ideas to keep in mind as you learn to pay attention to your child's emotions. Just remember that there is no 'right' way to parent, as every family has different strengths and challenges.

Understand the stages of development

As a parent, it is important to know what behaviors to expect at any given age for your child. Being familiar with developmental milestones can help you identify problems at an early stage. “The signs of emotional health with age, and what is appropriate at one age may be a red flag at another age,” says Geoff Nagle, PhD, MPH, director of the Institute of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Help them build self-esteem

As parents, we want to make everything perfect and wonderful for our children. But every child has to face life's challenges and disappointments and learn from their own mistakes. It is therefore important to teach your children to love and accept themselves for who they are. This will help them develop self-esteem, and give them a strong sense of self-worth as they grow up into adults.

Spend quality time with your child

While it is important to spend quality time with your children, try not to become a 'helicopter' parent. Such parents tend to be overly involved in children's lives, and do not let them learn from their mistakes or from normal childhood experiences. As a result, kids may become angry / depressed under the stress.

Know when to seek help

If your child shows an unusual amount of anxiety, fear, anger, stress or pain, it is important to get him the help he or she needs. Child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Derenne suggests that, “parents should seek help if the child has prolonged periods of depressed mood, fluctuating moods or overwhelming anxiety”.

Deal with your own emotional problems

Kids tend to be highly attuned to their parents' moods and behaviors. So if you are dealing with your own issues such as depression or addiction etc., it is important to seek treatment before the problem affects your kids. While it is important to give priority and take interest in your child's life and well-being, if you are not feeling content and fulfilled in your own life, you are very likely doing more bad than good in terms of your children's emotional well-being .

Every child feels the need to 'matter' to his / her family, and remember you do not need to be a perfect parent to make your child feel wanted. By maintaining constant awareness of your child's psychological state and by simply being there for them, we can become more attuned to our children and learn ways to raise an emotionally healthy child.

Why Mental Hospitals Install LCD Casings

In society you will find people with behavioral illness, who need protecting from harm themselves and that of patients, require consistent care and proper protection against harming one's self or other people, which may include 'safe from harm' surroundings; just like secure television enclosures for psychiatric hospitals. Damage limitation minimizes the opportunity of harming one's self and healthcare staff in a vulnerable state of mind, but the treatment a TV can provide is one of life's consistent routines, escapism to an alternative world, viewing another individual having issues and for an education perspective. There are many advantages and benefits, however the most vital component of all is to always make sure the area is a safe one.

Why should you use TV enclosures for behavioral hospitals?

Secure television casings protects both equipment (and software) in addition to the patient, as all of the external wires is securely locked away within your case, the glass screen inside the flat panel display remains safe and secure by a viewing screen; toughened safety glass or Lexan, the unit is constructed to that when it's hit with a heavy object the flex in the window is away from the front of the TV protecting against damage to the display screen. There have been many instances where disorder have already been created due to frustration from the inmates who can not watch the tv screen; because of damage. Also incidents are actually very dangerous and life-threatening as cabling can be used as ligatures and shards of broken glass as weapons – one slice and then one of the major treaties can be cut leaving the victim 30 seconds to live.

Protective TV casings for mental hospital wards.

Institution is the term for a commune or lodging arrangement for a group of people together; it is usually pertinent for other categories of people, like schools, work environments, common rooms and communal areas. These are locations which go through similar damage and present risks caused by irritation and rage, towards making use of the display glass as a weapon.

TV security for tv set casings for mental hospitals.

Not simply is the tv secure, however it removes the ability of concealing contraband goods, like drugs, tobacco and weapons that can be hidden in gaps and spaces within the lcd screen – even the tiniest of gaps or holes for fixes are often used to pack smuggled goods. TV protective enclosures also deter the theft of your plasma or flat screen display itself – even in a jail, you will be highly surprised indeed to discover that furniture goes missing. How can someone walk out of a penitentiary or bahavorial unit with a 46 “plasma screen? Another reason is to try to extend the life span with the TV set, as technology has surpassed supply at such a rate some parts become outdated in a short time , compelling the TV to be replaced with an upgraded model, which needs extra investment.

Understanding Narcolepsy Symptoms and Possible Treatments for It

Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the part of the brain responsible for controlling sleeping patterns. What makes this ailment so dangerous is that narcolepsy symptoms are often too vague to be recognized. Some of the top prominent symptoms include feeling excessively sleepy during the day time, experiencing significant loss of muscle control, and vulnerability to strong emotions. As narcolepsy progresses, its sufferer is bound to start sleeping during different tasks such as cooking or even driving. It is this lack of alertness all of a sudden that can turn out to be extremely dangerous for some.

If you or someone you know has been sleeping all of a sudden, here is a look at some common narcolepsy symptoms you should be aware of and possible treatment options.

Some Common Narcolepsy Symptoms

In most cases, you are bound to notice initial narcolepsy symptoms between the ages of 10 and 25, but they are often dismissed as lifestyle habits and not given the attention they deserve. While the most common symptom that narcolepsy sufferers experience is excessive daytime sleeping, especially after a sudden state of heightened emotions such as frustration, sadness, laughter or surprise, the following narcolepsy symptoms may show:

Muscle Control Loss – Cataplexy or loss of muscle control is the second most common narcolepsy symptom experienced by most sufferers. This loss of control is triggered after a strong emotional state any time during the day.

Sleep Paralysis – In this condition, a person may find themselves unable to move or talk at all. This usually happens before they sleep or directly after they wake up.

Wakefulness at Night Time – People suffering from narcolepsy may find themselves waking up during the night for short periods. During this time, they may experience conditions like intense alertness, increased heart rate, and hot flashes.

Hallucination – Often, people with narcolepsy may also experience sudden, vivid and sometimes extremely frightening hallucinations in the form of both visual and auditory sensation. These usually take place as sufferers are trying to sleep at night or when they wake up in the morning.

Microsleep – Microsleep is a condition where, for a very short time period, you continue to function normally doing things like talking and cooking while your mind is actually at sleep. When you wake up from this condition, you have no memory of the things you have done during that period.

Rapid Occurrence of REM Sleep – Typically, it takes 90 minutes for people to start dreaming after they fall sleep; but people suffering from narcolepsy usually enter this stage right away. During this time, they experience muscle paralysis and vivid dreams, even if they fall asleep for a few minutes in the daytime.

Possible Treatments of Narcolepsy

If you have been experiencing narcolepsy symptoms for some time, you may be looking for possible treatments before your lack of alertness causes you to become a part of a dangerous situation. Luckily, there are numerous treatments that are used to control narcolepsy symptoms, most of which do not require medications.

People suffering from narcolepsy are also usually vulnerable to depression since they are unable to lead a normal life and experience some embarrassing reasons due to their sleeping habits and loss of muscle control. If this is the case with you or a loved one, it is important that people experiencing narcolepsy symptoms start taking counseling sessions or joining a narcolepsy support group to feel better and positive about their condition.

In addition, sufferers will have to make lifestyle changes like:

· Avoiding over-the-counter sleeping drugs

Limiting their caffeine, nicotine and alcohol consumption

· Avoiding activities that can be dangerous if they suddenly fall sleep

· Exercising regularly

· Scheduling your sleep periods.

If sufferers still find it hard to overcome their ailment, there are certain drugs that can help them control narcolepsy symptoms. These typically include stimulants to improve alertness, antidepressants and sodium oxybate if they have severe catplexy.

So, if you have been suffering from narcolepsy symptoms, consider these options for treatment. Consult a doctor right away and try to understand which option would be more suitable for you. The more you delay your consultation, the more susceptible you will be to a dangerous situation.

Kickboxing As a Positive Mental Aspect of Living a Healthy Lifestyle

Each day you are given the opportunity to improve a skill, learn something new, or build your body. The gift of life should not be squandered. Use each day to improve your life. Sometimes the best way to release stress after a hard day at work is some intense physical activity. Kickboxing offers a healthy way to get some of the day's frustrations out of your system, which will also help you get a better night's sleep and improve mental clarity. There's nothing more awesome than being able to kick some butt, and look great doing it. Exercise increases the flow of oxygen which directly affects the brain. Your mental acuity and memory can be improved with physical activity.

Improved self-esteem is one of the top benefits of regular physical activity. While exercising, your body releases endorphins that can improve your mood and the way you feel about yourself. Exercise can help you cope with stress and ward off depression and anxiety, not to mention all the health risks that are included with an unhealthy lifestyle. Exercising prevents heart disease, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis, and many more things that you can proactively avoid. These are just a few of the ways exercise improves your health. Studies have suggested it can also help with certain types of cancer, improve immune function, and more.

Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? Cardio kickboxing can help control your emotions in a positive way. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem. Without regular physical activity, the body slowly loses its strength, stamina and ability to function well. And for each hour of regular exercise you get, you'll gain about two hours of additional life expectancy, even if you do not start until middle age.

Exercise and physical activity can be a fun way to spend your time. It gives you a chance to unwind and engage in activities that make you happy. Physical activity can also help you connect with family or friends in a fun social setting. The group atmosphere of kickboxing is even more effective in releasing endorphins. While any type of aggressive activity will release these feel-good chemicals, group exercise enhances their impact.

We are made to play and compete. There are also great fat-loss and health implications of engaging in sporting type activities. Think of it as exercise without exercising.

Curing A Mental Illness With Safety

We tend to separate those who are considered to be serious from those who are considered to be irresponsible, but the truth is that everyone is far from having a serious behavior based on dignity. Human beings are immoral actors. You would be surprised with what you would discover if you could learn many hidden details about other people's behavior when they are alone, or when they are with those who depend on them.

After discovering the anti-conscience, which is our wild conscience, I understood that evilness generates absurdity because evilness disrespects physical laws and moral principles. We acquire a certain mental illness when we accept the evil and absurd suggestions of our anti-conscience.

A conscience must be well-organized and respect many rules in order to be logical. When it disrespects the laws of the Universe because it has evil desires, it becomes absurd. This is how a mental disorder begins.

We are absurd because we already inherit many evil and absurd tendencies from birth. Even those who seem to be logical and serious have their moments of absurdity. Everyone must follow dream therapy to find sound mental health based on Divine guidance. The psychotherapy of the divine unconscious mind is based on goodness.

Only goodness can guarantee an individual's mental stability. This is a big irony for our individuous and selfish population. Nobody could imagine that goodness could be essential for the maintenance of our mental health.

Many people believe that absurdity does not depend on the person's personality, but now we know that absurdity is generated by evilness. Therefore, we can understand the importance of goodness. Goodness is an antidote against evilness and absurdity.

Selfish tend to acquire sever mental illnesses because they are controlled by their anti-conscience. A human being must be generous and humble in order to be mentally healthy.

My work relates science to religion, including relating various different scientific fields. Now you have a global vision of your reality. You can also understand the real meaning of spirituality.

The Divine unconscious mind shows you in your dreams how you can become a perfect human being, and completely eliminate your dangerous anti-conscience forever. This means that God shows you how to eliminate your satanic animal nature and evolve, so that you may become a sensitive human being.

You have to eliminate your evil side by understanding its mistakes and condemning its suggestions. This is a difficult matter because when you fight absurdity this means that you fight absurd thoughts.

Absurd thoughts are negative thoughts based on selfishness that intend to mislead your ego. They confuse your reasoning system, and your conscience becomes disorganized. In this situation, you lose consciousness because you stop understanding the meaning of your actions.

You should be prudent and follow dream therapy before having serious mental health problems. Now you know the dangers that are threatening your mental health and your happiness.

You can be cured even from a severe mental illness through dream therapy, but it takes time. You have to look for psychotherapy while you are only depressed or neurotic. If you will disregard the first signs of a mental disorder, you can become psychotic or schizophrenic, or you may have to deal with various unbearable symptoms.

If you already are in this situation, you should be serious and strictly follow the unconscious guidance in your dreams, so that your anti-conscience may stop ruining your conscience. Only through dream translation can you eliminate the root cause of your mental disorder, and recuperate your human conscience.

Average psychiatrists are not able to cure mental illness. Many people ignore the power of dream therapy, and this is why they are victims of today's psychiatry, which is based on suppositions about the functioning of the human brain. Dream therapy is a safe and natural treatment without dangerous medicines that destroy your immune system.

The unconscious mind provides you with psychotherapy based on sanctity and wisdom in your own dreams. You understand how to get out of the labyrinth of craziness and find balance.

God is a persistent and patient psychotherapist. You have numerous dreams about the same topics until you will understand your mistakes, and stop making them.

You tend to make numerous mistakes only because your conscience is deficient, since it works based on one psychological function and a half. Through dream therapy you learn how to develop your four psychological functions (thoughts, feelings, sensations, intuition) and have a wise attitude. You become introverted and extroverted at the same time.

This means that you become a genius. I'm not exaggerating. You are not using the largest part of your brain power because it belongs to your anti-conscience. You, the conscious human being existent to you human conscience must fight the absurdity of your evil side and obey the divine guidance, which is based on sanctity. This is how you will develop your conscience.

Dream therapy is a miraculous treatment because God knows what you need to learn in order to find sound mental health. Your dreams are not produced by chance. You have exactly the guidance you need.

If you have simple psychological problems you will be helped faster. Do not let you anti-conscience have advantages. Your human conscience must be developed through consciousness, before your anti-conscience will manage to destroy a big portion of your consciousness with its poisonous ideas.

Systematic Review of Bipolar Disorder: Data Extraction and Quality Appraisal, and Synthesis Strategy

Conducting a systematic review needs to be thorough and systematic in every sense as the name examples. The author lists underneath the techniques he used to conduct a systematic review of pscyhosocial interventions for bipolar affective disorder to help other researchers design their strategies for future systematic reviews in this field.

Data Extraction strategy

A detailed standard data extraction sheet was developed, to assist with systematic data collection on the following:

1) The study population
2) Criteria for study eligibility
2) Interventions carried out on treatment and control arms
3) Randomisation, blinding procedures and allocation concealment
4) Sample size
5) Outcome measures change and output data
6) Important clinical, and design features and follow up methods
7) Statistical analysis
8) Results
9) Drop outs and intention to treat analysis issues

The extracted data were directly inserted in to data extraction tables in respective sections. Data were categorized under population, intervention, treatment of controls and outcomes.

Data on quality of the studies were collated in a separate set of tables that would be discussed under quality assessment strategy.

Quality assessment strategy

Once the primary studies were selected, a more detailed quality assessment was carried out, to allow the reviewer to assess differences in the implementation of studies within design categories. This information was considered critical for consequent synthesis and interpretation of results. Detailed quality evaluations was based on a quality assessment instrument that was developed using Cochrane reviewer's handbook and CRD report 4 to match all assessment requirements of studies taking in to account the context. The developed quality assessment instrument was a tabulated checklist of factors that needed to be assessed for each study. The quality assessment instrument was derived taking in to consideration the factors that could bias review results. The quality items within the instrument were assigned numerical
scales up to 5, so numerical estimates of quality could be obtained.

Synthesis strategy

Data synthesis involved collating and summarizing results of the included primary studies. The data extraction sheet was used to extract all necessary information to be inserted in the data extraction tables. The tables were only numbered and the names of authors were not initially included in the table to help with minimizing potential bias introduced by reviewer's knowledge of authors of the study, during quality evaluation process. After completion of the quality evaluation process, the names of the authors were added to the tables for completeness of information.

Details of each step of the review process was reported explicitly with names of searched databases, number of citations, and the inclusion / exclusion process was reported with every necessary detail. Details of excluded studies were reported in a separate list with explicit reasons for exclusion of each study.

Country of origin and context of each study were explained clearly. The range of mean age of study participants, and range of gender of participants of the included studies were reported.

Extracted information from the studies (ie intervention, population, and context, sample sizes, outcomes, study quality) was tabulated in a manner consistent with the focused question of the review. Tables were structured to highlight similarities and differences between study outcomes. Data from studies were analyzed in subgroups relevant to interventions that were carried out by the primary studies. Information regarding interventions, participant populations, output measures that the trialists considered, was reported in subgroups of studies that applied similar interventions. The reviewer endeavored to provide a comparative account of the included studies rather than reporting critical appraisals of 10 included studies separately. Quality of studies was reported after application of detailed quality checklist with descriptive information (ie, adequacy, inadequacy) and scores. Total scores were reported and quality scores were cross tabulated to demonstrate the overall picture, and make comparison possible.

Findings of the included studies regarding effectiveness of the intervention under question was discussed collectively to provide an overall picture of impact of “psychosocial management” on course of bipolar disorder.

The reviewer put thorough effort to carry out a meta-analysis, with the view of reporting a quantitative account of the effectiveness of psychosocial management of bipolar disorder. Synthesis was descriptive – non-quantitative – for reasons of “feasibility of meta-analysis and examination of heterogeneity”.

Explicit reasons were given why meta-analysis was not carried out. However, every effort was made whenever possible to complement the descriptive synthesis with a quantitative summary.

After summarizing the results of the studies regarding effectiveness, implications of this review for future practice, policy and research was discussed. Potential weaknesses of this review were clearly referred to warn the reader of the potential caveats.

Quality of Randomized Trials on Psychosocial Management of Bipolar Disorder

This article attempts to summarize the quality and design of randomized trials for psychosocial management of bipolar disorder.

The author developed detailed quality assessment questions using the Cochrane handbook and CRD handbook for systematic reviews. Quality rating tables were developed using the questions and scores were given to each question. The author used the information in the data extraction sheets for general examination of each question, also needed to re-examine each study separately, specifically looking for every single “quality area” to decide on the study quality.

The author is of the opinion that rating each quality subcategory is a very subjective exercise. Each person views the issue of psychosocial interventions differently. People in who work in the field of family therapy favor this method of psychosocial management more than others. The psychoeducation experts are of a different opinion and raise the importance of cost effectiveness of their method of intervention as opposed to family therapy, and interpersonal and social rhythm therapy. The experts of interpersonal and social rhythm therapy consider their approach superior to psychoeducation and family therapy, as they consider it a more modern approach that pays attention to personal details. Each subcategory is relevant and important, and major flaws in any area could seriously damage the validity of the results. Adding rates together to achieve a total number would result in total scores which are a very rough guess of quality of the study, as it combines like to unlike, and adds up the biases introduced by subjective effort of the reviewer in rating each subcategory. However, there is no alternative available to the reviewer other than this method, but the reader should be aware of this and view this numbers with caution.

Among the included studies, only 6 studies fulfilled quality requirements of randomisation. Only 3 studies convinced the author that sufficient allocation concealment was carried out. 3 studies produced sufficient convincing information and data to conclude that baseline characteristics of the intervention and control groups were similar. 3 Studies endeavored to carry out sample size calculation and achieves the required sample size. Strikingly, only one study was considered to be a good representation of the general bipolar population, and this obviously makes generalization of the results very difficult. 3 studies achieved sufficient blinding of the assessors.

Only 4 studies treated groups similarly in every aspect, except the intervention, and did not offer any dose of intervention to the control group. Only two studies met all requirements of “intention to treat”. Overall, only one study rated 39 out of maximum quality score of 55. Five studies rated between 30 and 33, one study rated 28 and the other two between 19 and 21.

Emotional Intelligence: Why It Is Important And The 5 Steps To Increase It!

This is a subject that is not always discussed when it comes to stress reduction, and yet if you do wish to control your stress and anxiety levels, you will need to learn it.

But what is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to to be aware of your emotions, manipulate them from negative to positive and analyze them in yourself and other people, so you know when you are stressed, being negative and how to recognize this in other people.

This has numerous benefits, from being able to stay focused to building rapport with your team player or workers, to even resolving conflict and reducing stress in the long run.

There are 4 steps of Emotional Intelligence

Step 1: Being aware / perceiving your emotions- You need to be aware of your own emotions. It sounds easy, but you try it next time you get depressed or angry. Easier said than done, right? You need to be aware of your emotional state, moment to moment (if needs be) and be aware of how your emotions relate to your thoughts and your behaviors.

Step 2: Managing your emotional state- This is the ability to control your emotions, so that you can change behaviors, impulsive feelings, and learn to change with ever changing circumstances.

Step 3: Learn to understand emotions- This is vital to creating rapport with other people, making friends, or learning to read non-verbal clues and body language. It also means to understand the situation better, so for eg, if you speak to your dad, and he is angry, it does not necessarily mean that it is your fault. It could be that he was late for work, or got gotten up in a traffic jam, or did not sleep well.

Step 4: Learn how to control you emotions to develop prosperous relationships- The need to understand our emotions and what can trigger them, in ourselves and other people, is a priceless commodity. We can then begin to understand what is really going on around us, and the power games that are used. But on the positive side, we can develop harmonious relationships, communicate effectively, inspire people and work towards our goals more effectively.

So why is being emotionally aware so important?

It is said that if you are in control (to some degree) of your emotions, you are more able to be successful in the long run than, say, somebody who is academically brilliant.

How many of us have hear stories of individuals who have a high IQ, yet crumble when it comes to doing exams.

How many of us have seen a soccer player put a penalty away easily when the team are cruising 4-0 on an average game, yet blazes one over the bar if it is the deciding penalty that will secure them a place in the final?

We have seen it time and time again, being clever is simply not good enough!

You have to be smart as well, emotionally, as well as academically!

And being emotionally intelligent is the best way to do that.

It affects:

  • Health- It goes without saying (and I've had a personal experience of this) that if you can not manage your emotions, you're more susceptible to stress. Period! Now do not get me wrong, I'm not talking about keeping negative feelings inside of yourself. That causes more harm than good. You need to express your feelings (in a non-destructive way, obviously) or you can make yourself ill! But not being emotionally aware will make you feel depressed, stressed and can cause all sorts of bodily breakdowns, like weakening the immune system to raising your blood pressure.
  • Mental well-being- It also goes without saying, that if you can not manage your emotions and suffer from stress, this will affect your mental health. This may lead you to have mood swings, suffer a burnout (please see the next chapter for the burnout) and can leave you isolated and lonely as you do not communicate and connect very easily, so you begin losing friends and cut out relationships.
  • You work life- Being able to manage your emotions and communicate effectively with other people, including building rapport with other co workers, colleges and managers, will mean better work relationships, being able to inspire and better resolution of inevitable work conflicts. You will be seen as being able to be a great communicator, which will increase productivity and team morale.

Increasing your Emotional Intelligence is a 5 step plan, and when these steps are mastered, not only will you feel better about yourself and being around other people, you will also become more healthy and more focused in your life.

  1. Reduce your stress levels
  2. Being aware of your emotions and how to manage them
  3. Being able to connect with other people using non verbal clues and other body language
  4. The art of using humor to help resolve conflict and inevitable challenges
  5. Learning how to use this all to resolve conflicts in a positive way and with confidence

Mastering the above 5 will help you become more of an emotionally manageable person, and you will be able to develop rapport, increase your emotional awareness, and feel more better. But what do you think? Let me know in the box below.

Let's look at each one …

1. Reducing Your stress levels. You need to be aware of when you are stressed, how you feel, what parts of the body are affected (for example, a tight chest or contracted throat), what triggered the stress levels, and what tends to help relieve the stress. This can either be something that can queaten you down, or something that can be stimulating. Everybody is different and therefore has different ways of dealing with stress. If you are introverted, withdrawn or depressed, you will tend to react more effectively to activities that stimulate you. Likewise, if you get angry or agitated, activities that quieten you down will be your best bet.

2. Being aware of your emotions and how to manage them. Having a moment to moment awareness of your emotions is a priceless commodity, and you will be able to quickly identify which things help you be positive, and likewise the stuff that makes you negative. But like I said before, when I talk about managing your emotions, I'm not talking about suppressing them. You need to release them in a healthy way, in order for you to begin the healing process.

Meditation and being in the, 'now' is a great way of releasing negativity, as all negativity is that of the EGO and not of the soul (I'll talk more about that in a later chapter).

Conversely, if you are very angry, it may be worthwhile to buy a punch bag, and when you get home, punch some wind (or join a gym to work it off).

Learning to release your negative emotions in a safe and constructive way is a great way to reclaim your peace of mind, as well as resolve and improve relationships.

3. Being able to connect with other people using non verbal clues and other body language. Non verbal communication makes up for about 70% of all of the total conversation. So it makes sense to try to master the non verbal clues, such as breathing, facial expressions, and tone (to name a few). Reading about NLP and body language will also be of extreme help.

As always, to be a great communicator and rapport developer, try to keep eye contact, and keep your breathing at the same pace as their souls (unless they are breathing really quickly, that is).

These small tips helps you to develop a good relationship, and you will be surprised at how this helps with the overall goal.

4. The art of using humor to help resolve conflict and inevitable challenges. 'There's nowt wrong with a good belly laugh'. Many of you will have heard someone say this (or something similar) and for good reason. Laughter is probably in my opinion, one of the most underrated ways of not only reducing stress and keeping your head clear, but also to diffuse a bad situation.
But I said, 'art' in the title, and for good reason.

There is a small knack. You can laugh at the wrong time, so a fair judgment of the situation is needed here.

But a small quick does of humor can help resolve differences in opinion, while a big belly laugh in the privacy of your own company, trying to see the, 'funny side' of a bad situation, can help you go through hardships in life.

I know, this may sound impossible to do at first, but you do get into it.

And after all, why not? Why should you let your inner peace be spoiled and ruined due to an exterior circumstance.

Laughing helps clear the mind so you can be less rigid and stiff in your thinking, allowing more creative ways to solve a problem to emerge, see the positive side of it (and if one exists, of course) and will help get your nervous system back into balance.

Do not underestimate the power of a good laugh!

5. Learning how to use this all to resolve conflicts in a positive way and with confidence. Lets be honest, although we all want harmonious and peaceful relationships, battles and disagreements are bound to happen. Why? Because everyone has a difference in opinion, and nearly everyone (apart from a small minority) is right.
So there is bound to be some hard talking around. This is where grounding yourself, and being in the, 'now' helps.

You help clear your mind of negativity and previous mental baggage (judgments, preconceived notions and beliefs, etc) and this will result in a more effective and peaceful outcome.

But do not forget, if you simply can not see the other persons point of view, you can always agree to disagree, or at the very worst, forgive.

This will keep the constructive aspect of the argument still strong, without it spilling over and causing too much hurt. Forgiveness helps you restore peace of mind, keeps you focused, reduces stress and restores broken friendships and relationships.

And how do you forgive? Just let go!

Why Should You Sleep To Reduce Stress?

How does it feel when people call you lazy just because you love to sleep a few extra hours? I'm sure you want to stop sleeping so much, maybe to show your criticisms that you are not lazy at all. Trust me, you should not listen to what they are telling you. You are doing absolutely fine with your sleeping habits. In fact, your sleep is actually keeping you protected from all the stress you face every day.

Sleep and Stress

Sleep and stress have a very close connection. If you feel stressed out, then you can have a hard time trying to sleep. And if you do not sleep, then you are sure to have an enhanced stress level. As a result, your health will soon start deteriorating. Some of the common issues faced due to the lack of sleep are an impaired memory, a reduced immunity system, risk of heart diseases and greater risk of depression.

An average adult needs 7 to 9 hours of daily sleep. Surprisingly, kids and adolescents need more than 9 hours per day. When we start going to school, our sleep pattern starts changing drastically. The pattern becomes worse when we enter collages and then, our job lives. Even though we feel stress, we always have some important work that forces us to stay awake. We do not get the least amount of sleep at night and wake up stressed in the morning. This cycle goes on every day, and our stress level keep increases rapidly.

Therefore, modern doctors highly recommend the ' Shut-Eye Therapy '. When we close our eyes, we are able to breathe in a better way, and as a result, our brains start losing the pent-up stress. This is the reason some psychiatrists also suggest patients to go for meditation. Meditation is also an effective solution that helps us sleep soundly, and periodically, reduce stress.

If you are having problems in reducing stress, then sleeping is somehow the best solution for you. But as excessive stress will not let you sleep properly, here are some steps you can follow:

Step 1: Fix the Time

If you are planning to sleep for 6 hours, you need to set your bedtime and your wake-up time. In this way, you are giving a signal to your subconscious mind. Although you may have problems initially, your brain will soon start adjusting itself according to your signal.

Step 2: Start Winding Down Early

Every person needs to allow the alerting mechanisms of the brain to decrease their activities before the sleeping mechanisms can take action. If you are planning to sleep by 10pm, then start winding down at least an hour early.

Step 3: Focus on the Bedroom

If you are a person who can not sleep properly due to excessive stress, you can try changing a few things around you. You can make your bedroom very comfortable and visually pleasant. You can try activities, like reading books and having sex, that have a relaxing effect on the brain.

If you are becoming successful with your game plan, then you must also make it a point to check your progress occasionally. You can download the psychiatry EHR software on your smartphone or tablet, and use the software to monitor your improved sleep patterns.

And you need to always keep one simple mantra in mind: ” There is nothing to worry if there is stress .

10 Ways to Use Food As a Wonder-Drug for Mental Health

The 10 Rules of Food and Mood

In an astonishing study, UK mental health charity Mind found that making basic changes to diet can significantly reduce and in some cases altogether eliminate the symptoms of mental illness. This includes anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. If you want to harness the power of food to become happier and reduce symptoms of mental ill health, follow as many of the following rules as you can.

1. Hydrate

Many of us spend most of our time being a bit dehydrated without realizing it. We often mistake this low level thirst for hunger, so we snack instead of drink.

Ideally we should all be drinking eight medium sized glasses of water a day, or around 2 liters. Start small, aiming for 3 or 4 glasses / 1 liter a day and slowly crank it up over time.

Props can help – buying bottles of mineral water or always having a full jug and glass on your desk. Also, if the tap water in your area tastes bad, adding a bit of concentrated lemon juice makes it better. Also a filter jug can make tap water a whole lot nicer.

2. Cut Sugar

The sugar industry is a multi billion pound business. Just like the tobacco industry denied it posed any hard to health, there is too much profit to be made from sugar for the truth about how harmful it is to health, including mental health, to be fully recognized yet in public.

Because sugary food is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream it causes blood sugar spikes that can cause mood imbalance. Sugar also drains B vitamins from your body, and B vitamins are essential for maintaining good mental health.

Sugar is in almost all packaged food you buy. Check the labels of what you buy for just a week and you will be amazed at how much is sneaked into our food. Start by cutting out the obvious sugary things in your diet: sugary drinks, sweets, chocolate, cakes, puddings and biscuits. When you have done this, then begin to avoid it more generally. Make your own food as often as possible instead of buying it pre made. Cook batches of soups, stew and sauces and freeze them. Bring your own lunch to work instead of getting a sandwich from the shop (yes there is sugar even in a lot of the sandwiches we buy even in salt-and-vinegar crisps).

If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend buying Xylitol (looks like sugar, tastes like sugar, but does not do the harm sugar does) from health shops, or using acacia honey. Acacia honey is the only honey that is not too sugar rich to be healthy.

2. Brown not white

Refined carbohydrates meaning white bread, pasta, rice and most processed foods use up the mood-enhancing B vitamins. So when it comes to grains and Cereal, always opt for whole and brown, not refined and white. Whole grains have B6 – a key mental health nutrient.

3. Nuts and seeds

Sunflower seeds and peanuts have got a lot of B3, cashews and hazelnuts are good sources of B6, and flax seeds and pumpkin seeds are full of Omega 3s. Brazil nuts have a lot of selenium. All these nutrients plus the zinc and magnesium in seeds and nuts play a big role in strong mental health.

Toasting them under the grill and adding them to soups, salads, stews and bowls of breakfast cereal is the easiest way of getting extra nuts and seeds into your diet without having to feast on birdseed.

4. Eat the right meat

Vitamin B6 – another mental health vitamin – can be found in meats but avoid processed meat, it's not only linked to poor mental health but also to cancer. Unprocessed chicken and turkey are excellent sources of the nutrient and they also have tryptophan, an amino acid that boosts serotonin production – a lack of serotonin causes problems with mental health. Fish, especially mackerel, herring and salmon will give you a good dose of B12, which like all the other B vitamins is vital in your regular diet if you are going to have the best mental health possible. Vitamin B12 deficiency has been linked to extreme mood disorder. Also cod, salmon, snapper, trout and tuna have a lot of B6. If you are a vegetarian you should consider supplementing your vitamin B with vitamin pills.

5. More Fruit and Vegetables

Best rule of thumb with fruit and vegetables is go for as much variety and color as you can and to also make sure that dark green leafy vegetables are eaten every day.

The magnesium that you get in dark green leafy vegetables has a chemical similarity to lithium, a common drug treatment for serious mood disorders. Vitamin b9, also known as folic acid is found in dark green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, watercress, cabbage and broccoli. Without enough b9, mental well-being is compromised.

Sweet peppers, spinach, baked potatoes with their skin, green peas, yams, broccoli, asparagus are excellent sources of vitamin B6.

High levels of mental health nutrient Vitamin C can come from eating a lot of fruit and vegetables too.

Garlic has anti anxiety and anti depressant qualities, so if you like it, eat it a lot. (Roast it, crush it into salad dressings or add it to sauces and stews).

6. Include beans, peas and pulses

Chick peas, kidney beans, lentils and soya beans are vitamin B6-rich. A single serving of any of these each day can lower the risk of bipolar. If you are a veggie, they are a great source of the tryptophan you'll be missing from poultry and fish.

7. Reduce dairy

Cow dairy can cause symptoms of mental illness so it's good to cut back on it. Cow dairy protein (bovine casein) – causes a slight immune reaction in a lot of people. There is a correlation between people with bipolar diagnoses and casein intolerance, and studies have shown that reducing dairy, along with the other rules of food and mood that I list here, was effective at reducing and even eliminating all symptoms of serious mental illness.

This may be because when people drink milk they show a marked increase in the peptide beta-casomorphin 6, which may aggravate or cause psychological disturbance. There are so many milk substitutes out there it is reliably easy to avoid dairy: replace it with soya milk, almond milk, oat milk or rice milk.

8. Less caffeine

Caffeine also alters both your blood sugar and your mood and is best kept to a minimum.

9. Low alcohol

No single legal thing will compromise your mental health as much as alcohol does. If you skip this rule, the rest will all be done for nothing. Keep alcohol to a minimum, drink small amounts and only on occasion if you need to drink at all. Pints of soda water make an excellent (and cheap) substitution for pints of beer or cider, I find, so you can still go to the pub and be sociable.

10. More Omega 3

Most people lack Omega 3, a type of fatty acid. These are essential for balanced, resilient mental health. The richest dietary source of omega 3 is oily fish like salmon, mackerel and herring. The more fish the population of a country eats the lower is their incidence of depression and omega 3 is the reason why. In one study bipolar disorder came out on top as the number 1 illness most associated with lack of omega 3 essential fatty acids. Vegetarian sources of omega 3 are flaxseed, humous, olive oil and even Brussels sprouts.

Any of the changes you make that bring your diet more into line with these rules will benefit your mental (and physical) health. Make small changes and build it up gradually because new habits that are formed slowly tend to last longer than drastic overhauls.

View every time you eat or drink as an opportunity to do your mental wellbeing and future self a favor. Do not be hard on yourself and just see how it goes. Good luck!

Over Sensitive People Can Find Help Through Counselling

As people in general, we are sensitive in nature and tender and for most this can be blessing but for some it can also be a curse. This is because there are some people who are far more sensitive and feel things much deeper and are stimulated far more by their sensitive feelings. Often they can be so sensitive to their surroundings that others feel like they are walking on eggshells when around them. This can lead to a variety of problems in their relations. Often times counseling can help these people rise above their sensitivity.

Being Super Sensitive Can Take Our Power Away

Some people can be so sensitive that they will allow other people to get under their skin way too easily and it can be so much so that it dis-empowers them. By allowing their sensitivity to take control they are then giving away their own power and then they are overly influenced by others opinions, choices and their actions. This can then lead them to disappointment. They are then easily thrown off track and become way over tuned emotionally and they become like a sponge and let everything they catch bother them.

By seeking out counseling and therapy they can be helped to explore what is happening around them and teach them how to gain a better sense of empowerment again and how to react differently to what people think and say about them. This will help them to take more responsibility for their own responses and their behavior.

Being Overly Sensitive Can Cause Feelings of Being Insignificant

Those who are overly sensitive may find themselves feeling insignificant and may feel like they are not aware and that life's struggles are so overwhelming sometimes they find it hard to participate in the world around them. Being over sensitive makes it hard for them to be resilient and even procrastination can become part of their life.

How sensitive one is will color their perceptions on life and can cause them to have strong reactions to the things around them. Sensitivities are often based on a persons basic needs but when a person is overly sensitive they may issues and feelings that may cause them a variety of issues. Those who are overly sensitive will often respond negatively to a variety of different things:

  • Feeling of being disrespected – Everyone responds well when the feedback they get is positive. However when the feedback is destructive or is criticism a lot of people do not respond well at all. They may have a huge need for respect and criticism may make them feel they are being disrespected.
  • Feeling of being controlled – Most people would prefer that people request them to do something and not demand them to. Most people though can still handle demands. However, those who are overly sensitive may find it impossible to respond but negatively to commands that give them no choices. They feel they are being controlled by whomever is giving them a demand instead of a request.
  • Feeling abandoned – People will always respond better when they feel like they are being heard by others, being kept informed about things and are included in social gatherings and feel a closeness in a relationship. But those who are overly sensitive at times may feel as they are not included and are not being heard and this can lead to feeling abandoned and rejected.
  • Feeling of being invaded – There are some people who are extremely sensitive in maintaining their own space or they become immediately uncomfortable and have fear of being engulfed or a feeling of being claustrophobic. They may feel when someone is trying to get too close that their own self is being constricted. Even though they long for a relationship they still may feel unsafe if they get too close.

Everyone Has Buttons That Can Be Pushed

Each person has their own tolerance level to how far they can be pushed and what buttons can be pushed to cause them to react in a certain way. Those who are overly sensitive have buttons that are far easy to push and they become overly defensive. They may take too many things to heart, feel hurt, feel angry and upset over something that most others would have thought nothing of. Their sensitivities become overly important to them and these leads them to misinterpret even the innocent of things and then over react to them in disproportionate fashion. If they are not careful this can lead them to a victim, rescuer or composer mode in life. This can especially be true between partners, being able to push the right buttons that will trigger them into negative behaviors. When someone is this sensitive it can be extremely challenging for them to:

  1. Respond with tolerance towards others.
  2. Control their emotions when others seem to be behaving poorly around them.
  3. Unable to step back and look at things in a different perspective.
  4. Remain focused.
  5. Take responsibility for their own part in what is going on around them.
  6. Learn to be less sensitive.
  7. Have a good sense of humor about things.

Important to Know How to Manage Sensitivities

No one in this world is a total saint and there are times we all will allow our sensitivities to take over and cause people to feel like they need to walk on eggshells when around you. However, most people do know how to manage their sensitivities. But there are those who are too fragile to do so and they are very over sensitive and when the right buttons are pushed they feel a sudden urge to be safe and will be unable to manage their sensitivities. They will find it difficult to let go of how they feel and they can become an intolerant of things going on around them.

These people should seek professional counseling so that they can be given the tools in order to learn how to tolerate things better, to become more helpful and learn how to properly manage their personal sensitivities.

Therapy will help them to examine what might be unconsciously communicated to others through their vulnerabilities. It will help them explore things such as their confidence, their esteem, shyness and help find a way to not let their overly sensitive nature control their lives.

Getting Rid Of Unbearable Symptoms And Mental Illnesses

The scientific method of dream interpretation is a psychotherapeutic treatment that guarantees the elimination of unbearable symptoms and mental illnesses. All mental health problems can be cured through dream therapy because your doctor is God, as Carl Jung could discover after verifying the wisdom of the unconscious mind that produces our dreams.

He did not have a religious attitude because he could not perceive the unconscious sanctity like me. I could also understand that the human conscience is absurd and idiotic after studying the human behavior based on Jung's lessons, and based on the lessons of many other scientists, especially thanks to the work of the biologist and ethologist Konrad Lorenz.

Thanks to the information I had in my historical time, I concluded that the human conscience is under-developed. I also understand that since God is the dream producer and works like a psychotherapist, the human being must consciously prefer the obedience to the divine guidance in dreams.

God's wisdom and sanctity are safe. You know that you can trust the divine guidance, but you can not trust your own thoughts, or other people's opinions.

If you already are mentally ill you should submit your dreams for professional dream translation, so that you may get rid of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, neurosis, bipolar disorder, multiple personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, psychosis, schizophrenia , or any other mental illness that is affecting your conscience, the fastest possible.

In parallel you should study my dynamic method of instant dream translation, so that you may get used with the dream language and better understand your psychological problems. This way you can learn how to translate the meaning of dreams yourself in the future, when you will be mentally healthy and you will use dream translation primarily with the intention to be with God and evolve as a human being, attaining higher levels of knowledge.

Dream translation according to the scientific method of dream interpretation helps you accurately translate the meaning of dreams and understand God's words. Now you can have a direct communication with God through dream messages because I simplified the dream language after continuing Carl Jung's research. You will be able to finally solve all the problems that seem to have no solution.

Everything depends on your obedience to the divine guidance. Dream therapy is a natural treatment based on consciousness. Your human conscience becomes stronger as you acquire more consciousness.

My discoveries have a scientific and a religious meaning, since I could discover the sanctity of the unconscious mind that produces our dreams, and the satanic origin of the human conscience. The anti-conscience is our primitive, absurd, and evil conscience, which is self-destructive and thinks like a prehistoric man.

The fact that we have a satanic primitive conscience means that we are under-developed primates. This is why our world is characterized by so many horrors, in parallel with indiscriminate attempts to find happiness by those who are not victims of terror. Our indifference to what happens with those who have no protection is the largest proof of our insanity, but we do not feel responsible for those who are not immediately related to us.

If you are mentally ill you are a victim of the world, and of the absurdity you have inherited. You need help, but you can not trust the mental health treatments invented by ignorant human beings because they are based on suppositions. Human beings ignore how the human brain works.

The human brain is complex, but we can understand the essential through dream translation because God knows how our brain works and gives us many explanations in dreams. This is why all dreams have a psychotherapeutic effect.

God can cure mental health problems and physical problems through dream messages. Even if you do not believe in God you will verify that the dream producer is a saintly doctor. You will surely conclude that a wise mind is giving you explanations and lessons in dreams.

These explanations and lessons do not come from your ignorant mind. They come from a superior mind that produces your dreams with the intention to give you information and guidance. The Divine unconscious mind helps you find sound mental health and authentic happiness.

All mental health problems can be naturally cured through dream translation. The simplest problems are cured in a few months of psychotherapy, usually 8 months. Other problems may need more time, but everyone is cured.

On the other hand, everything depends on how much you will care about your dreams and put the unconscious guidance into practice. If you are busy with many other activities and you do not change your behavior thanks to the information you have in dreams, you have to get organized. Otherwise, your treatment will not be fast.
